Welcome to Mbizana Local Municipality’s brand new website! The municipality hopes to use this website as another tool of service delivery, enabling us to stay in contact with members of our cyber community. This website will host all the necessary and relevant information that will enhance your interactive experience with our institution.
We are a coastal municipality, which stretches between Umtamvuna and Mtentu Rivers, with pristine beaches and scenic estuaries. This coast line is part of the famous Wild Coast and Pondoland centre of endemism that boosts of valuable flora and fauna found no where else in the world.
Mbizana does not only boast one of the most beautiful coastlines the world has ever seen, it is also home to one of the greatest sons of Africa, Oliver Reginald Tambo a revolutionary leader and longest serving ANC president, who was born and bred right here in the village of Nkantolo. One of Africa’s proudest daughters also calls Mbizana her home, and that is ANC stalwart Mrs Winnie Madikizela Mandela who hails from the village of Mbongweni.
Our villages may be home to some of the country’s greatest leaders, our shorelines and pristine beaches may be the stuff of legends, but it is in the people of Mbizana where the treasure truly lies.

Merry Christmas
As the year draws to an end it is the perfect time to reflect on our progress thus far, both individually and collectively. We should celebrate our successes and look upon our challenges as the learning curves that will guide us in the future. Looking to 2012, we are determined to deliver on all our service delivery commitments to the people of Mbizana. We look forward to working with all our local stakeholders and building a solid foundation for a road that will be filled with successes and memorable milestones. On behalf of Mbizana Local Municipality we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year! As you make your journey home to your families and loved ones to celebrate Christmas we hope that you will all travel safe, respect the rules of the road and ARRIVE ALIVE! We look forward to a very fruitfull year ahead; it has been a trying period with lots of challenges in the last six months. We will be engaging different sectors of our community to plan for a better municipality that Mbizana is supposed to be. On the service delivery front, a number of announcements and projects are going to be rolled out. Let’s all work together to make 2012 a year for infinite success and immense achievements! |
